John Hawkin's known for his "open" Homo Naledi paper has a very nice blog questioning the methods used by the authors who concluded a “vegetarian” Neanderthal based on tooth calculus.

It is a really a good blog about what scientists with a particular agenda can influence the mass media. Scientists paid to find a particular conclusion always do.

So it's great when other scientists publicly criticize papers but it leads to a bigger question. Should all research papers be freely available for review by anyone?
